What are cork notebooks made of?
Cork fabric is made from the cork oak tree, the only tree that benefits from the removal of its bark. Harvesting is done directly on the trunk. Each tree can be harvested every 8-10 years, for over 200 years, and can yield up to 200 kg of cork. Once the cork is harvested, the tree absorbs 3 to 5 times more CO2 than an unharvested tree, making harvesting an important process for reducing greenhouse gases. Cork fabric is therefore a natural resource that respects the environment, is sustainable and helps reduce air pollution.
